Job Description: Lead and continuously improve the day-to-day operations of all warehousing, inventory and internal/external order fulfilment activities to optimize performance and maintain inventory and cost controls while implementing supply chain best practices


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead vision casting and direction setting of company’s warehousing organization and activities

• Direct and indirect supervisory responsibility over:

• Warehouse Supervisors, leads and hourly shipping personnel for all Bell and Evans Warehouse locations

• Ingredients and Supplies Warehousing

• Inventory Supervisor & Inventory Processes

• 3PL / Outside Storage locations and activities

• Set benchmarks and standards for departmental performance

• Monitor inventory control and allocation as it relates to shipping and transportation. Establish information systems that provide key stakeholders with timely and accurate reports and information.

• Serve as a resource to Production, Customer Service and Sales

• Direct best practices in order fulfillment, loading practices, staff and asset utilization, safe practices and cost savings initiatives.

• Direct supervision on movement of product or materials from production to storage areas, distributors, retailers, second processors, and freezers when necessary.

• Ensure processes are in place to promote proper product rotation – all finished goods, raw materials, supplies and ingredients

• Participate in near and long-term forecasting and planning of logistics operations including capital expenditure process

• Enforce Company policies

• Analyze department wages in comparison with others in the industry and recommend changes to maintain competitive position.

• Ensure compliance with the Company’s safety program through working with the Safety Manager and occupational health staff to ensure compliance with requirements of the modified duty program. Continually interacting with injured team members.

• Work with cross functional teams on planning resources to ensure the timely and safe movement of company equipment and product.

• Promote and ensure a safe work environment while communicating safety results, both accident and injury frequencies, as a top priority.

• Efficiently manage all administrative functions and reporting requirements both internally for senior management and for external customers

• Prepare and manage the yearly budget for all warehousing activities while continuously evaluating opportunities to reduce costs.

• Maintain compliance with all regulatory bodies

Job Requirements:


Education and Experience

• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing and/or supply chain in a fast paced, perishable goods environment

• Undergraduate Degree is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.



• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong team building skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word

• Proficiency in supply chain and warehouse systems including WMS, Labor Management and ERP systems. MS Navision experience preferred.

• Ability to interact with individuals at all professional levels

• Superior organizational skills

• Ability to effectively manage various levels of employees

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including but not limited to performance management (employee evaluations, discipline, corrective action, coaching) and interviewing are required


Environment and Physical Demands

• Cold and wet, must enter freezers and coolers with temperatures below 32 degrees

• Lifting climbing, bending, standing, stooping as needed to perform various shipping tasks.
