Technical Sales Manager - Coatings

The Technical Services Manager will play an integral role in understanding our clients customer’s needs and provide technical assistance to the customer, sales team and technical teams.


Key responsibilities:

  • Service sales development of existing and new accounts in order to achieve sales goals
  • Collaboration with Sales and Service teams
  • Support to Service organization by attending projects when required
  • Understand structure of Service organization (corporate/regional) strategy, value that we provide to customers
  • Understand how our key customers operate, how their process works, how they provide value to their own What are their major challenges with coatings in key segments: Marine, Rail, Wind, Civil, O&G
  • Develop new service business together with existing account managers on existing or new accounts (55%)
  • Identification of sales opportunities
  • Account plans to enable sales of more services
  • Creating customer specific value propositions
  • Co-visiting customers
  • Enable existing account managers to sell Services more effectively (25%)
  • Sales training
  • Support during roll-out of new services/concepts
  • Provide input and intelligence to future service concepts (10%)
  • Provide technical assistance to Tech Service teams (10%)

Qualifications and skills:

  • Service sales/business development experience and proven results
  • Experience with selling service or solutions into end customer industries (Marine, O&G, Rail, Civil and/or Wind )
  • Value selling experience and success
  • Engineering background with strong commercial / business capabilities or vice-versa
  • Min 5 years of experience
  • Business development capabilities
  • Rapidly identifies key issues 
  • Strong networking and negotiating skills,
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders effectively,
  • Dedicated personality - passionate
  • International experience, fluency in English, cultural differences awareness
  • Customer and results orientation,
  • Ability to work both at high level and on details
