Corporate Fleet Manager

Responsible for the repair, replacement and maintenance of fleet vehicles and equipment throughout the organization. This includes parts procurement and warehouses, vehicle procurement/replacement programs, fuel dispensing network, maintenance / fabrication shop operations and fleet information systems.

 

Responsible for the sale / disposal of vehicle and equipment as life-cycles are reached and vehicle and equipment rotation or replacement occurs.

 

Responsible for establishing fleet accounts that result in the optimization of costs, risks reduction and efficiency improvements in fleet operations.

 

Education:

 

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Transportation and Logistics Management or related field. (Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities.)

 

Qualifications: 

 

Ten plus years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience in fleet repair and maintenance operations, parts procurement and warehouse, vehicle acquisition and replacement programs, fabrication /body shop operations, computerized fleet information and reporting system and surplus equipment disposal techniques.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

 

  • Knowledge of fleet repair and maintenance operations, parts and warehouse management, vehicle acquisition and replacement programs, maintenance and fabrication shop operations, computerized fleet information and reporting system and surplus equipment disposal techniques
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and principles; and general office procedures.
  • Knowledge of tools, machinery and technology used in equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices inherent in transportation industry.
  • Ability to prepare and understand equipment specifications and evaluate substitute products.
  • Considerable skill in planning and supervising the work of subordinates.
  • Ability to analyze equipment needs and replacement programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with staff, other departments, regulatory agencies and the public.
  • Ability to organize work priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow up on assignments independently.

 

Travel will be required up to a few days per week. Company vehicle provided.
