Project Manager - Construction

Seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager who can supervise and plan a diverse array of projects from start to finish. Candidate must be motivated, self-disciplined, and focused in order to achieve best results and ensure all projects are accordingly delivered in a timely manner. Ideal candidate will be well versed in all construction policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Estimate and takeoff the project scope, development and management of project cost and schedule of the project; analyze bids made by subcontractors; select and contract subcontractors and prepare the bid proposal for submission to the owner.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Review job cost reports weekly for overruns and make adjustments
  • Prepare monthly job cost forecast
  • Document all cost and plan changes
  • Coordinate the RFI process between the field and architect
  • Prepare and update schedules
  • Mentor, Develop and Coach Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Hire contractors, other staff and allocate responsibilities, as needed
  • Supervise the work of laborers, superintendents, etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a construction Project Manager
  • Bachelor’s in construction management or similar field (preferred)
  • Estimating experience (preferred)
  • Familiar with health and safety standards
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
  • Ability to understand and solve complex challenges to present alternative solution(s)
  • Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 20 lbs.
