GREAT OPPORTUNITY AT A LONG TERM CARE FACILITY FOR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING (ADON):
  • Assists Director of Nursing in ensuring compliance with regulations for documentation from physicians and nursing personnel and ensuring that all regional policies/procedures are being implemented.
  • Experience organizing, planning programs, and managing personnel to provide exceptional nursing services for residents and their families is required. Our goal is to maintain effective communication with families, residents, and facility staff.
  • The ADON conducts applicants' interviews and evaluates prospective candidate recommendations based on facility scheduling needs, leading orientation and in-service education training for staff members.
  • Participates in performance reviews and personnel files; enforces the personnel policies of the facility, including disciplining and terminating employees.
  • Make rounds daily to direct the work of employees and to observe for hazards, work duty problems, and ensure services are delivered to clients consistent with needs.
  • Assists with Continuous Quality Improvement and corrective follow-up actions. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, completes chart audits and reports results and progress, and makes recommendations for improvement to the Director of Nursing.
  • Follows up daily on each unit to assist with Care Planning and ensure changes in status are reported and recorded and that the resulting services performed are clearly defined.
  • Ensures proper infection control techniques based on state and federal regulations are utilized.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the DON.

Qualifications

  • Current R.N. license by the State Board of Nursing required with experience in the long term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of nursing experience and (1) year supervisory experience.
  • Clerical ability is necessary to read reports and utilize data accurately for other purposes.
  • Ability to plan and direct the department, coordinating with other departments.
