Driver Recruiter

Responsible for recruiting qualified driver candidates who meet or exceed my client’s hiring criteria to maintain seated truck count. 



  • Recruit qualified drivers for lane specific opportunities while maintaining federal and state regulations. ]
  • Assist in attracting candidates through marketing research and ideas and by maintaining and expanding social media presence for parent company to attract driver candidates.
  • Responsible for creating and posting advertisements on niche sites, screening, telephone interviewing and qualifying applicants for driver positions.
  • Communicate with potential candidates and applicants regarding the status of their application.
  • Coordinate pre-employment background check and DOT drug screens, arrange for travel to orientation facility.
  • Provide documents/Driver Files to Orientation instructor for on-boarding process i.e. DOT file, HR file, etc.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to candidate data.
  • Make hiring recommendation using hiring criteria to determine qualifications and suitability for employment.
  • Promote driver referral program and other recruiting programs.
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience recruiting over the road drivers in the transportation industry required.
  • Any combination of relevant education, training or experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job will be considered.



Strong verbal and written communication skills; high cognitive judgment skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize tasks which need to be completed on a daily basis; knowledge of FMCSA regulations with respect to driver qualifications; proficient with Microsoft Office software. • OTR Driver Recruiting: 2 years (required)
